A Single Poppy is layered-up with fiber paste to make it "jump" off the canvas and begged to be touched. The poppy is brilliant red with some muted reds, orange, and green/black highlights. The background takes on the golden shades and tans of an early morning sunrise in the field, forest, or mountainside. The stem is the only thing that holds the poppy in suspension as it sways in the breeze.
